According to BBC reports yesterday, we have still to make a bid, at least, there is no bid on the table at the moment.

I would've thought that we would need to at least offer Spurs some money for the player in order to sign him.

They'll get the two Russians and basically we'll have weekend to sign Berbie.

The thing is, if we don't sign Berbatov it will be disappointing but fair play to United for not paying silly money. And before anyone says there is other options, yes, there is, but clearly Berbatov is the one Fergie wants and the one who Fergie things can bring something different to the team.

We have a very good squad as it is, especially with the young Brazilian lads who IMO will play a part in the 1st team squad this season.

I know, his mood is tumbling and spiralling out of pessimistic control.

If it doesn't go through Spurs will end up offloading him for a knockdown fee next Summer. It won't be to Utd though, cannot see them going back again.

Yup, a sulky season followed by a £10 million transfer. I kinda hope that happens now.

I'd think a January transfer wouldn't be an impossibility either.

Yeah, which makes it even more weird why Spurs won't sell him. They're gonna end up with a player who is unhappy and not get anywhere near the money they'd get now.

If he doesn't sign, I'll be devastated.

You can be sure, the transfer window will shut and Tevez or Rooney will get injured. No £#%&!ing doubt.

Me too. Put me on suicide watch on Tuesday if this doesn't happen.

Will be criminal of us not to strengthen from our position - a real backwards step in comparison to Chelsea and will make our job a lot harder this season.

We can talk about other targets, but Berbatov is the only one we've been looking at seriously who would really make us a better team.

probably. £#%&!ing disaster. imagine what would have happened last year if rooney had got injured at the start of the season. we'd have won £#%&! all.
