Honestly don't think Shaw will ever be the player a lot of people think - he will be injury prone (has an unusual gait and running action) which will lead to more than a few injuries - he also seems unable to return after injuries in reasonable condition.

if he gets fit he'll be great but i worry he's become institutionalised by injuries. if anyone can get him back it's jose

Yeah but if Shaw is declaring himself unfit Jose will prob wash his hands of him - don't think Jose gives players many chances if they piss him off - like Miki

He hasn't washed his hands of Miki imo. He compared him to Willian as a player who took a while to settle and he really likes Willian.

I'm more worried about Shaw's inability to defend and him getting rinsed regularly.

Hmm - wasn't on the bench again today was he? Surely to build him up he should be giving him some game time - even if it's only 20 mins

Would be more worrying if the entire team wasn't displaying similar tendencies tbh

Shaw's coming back from a broken leg. He may be physically fit again but mentally that can still take time to recover from. I don't see a problem if he felt he had to pull out.

Martial on the other hand...is his head still messed up after his split with his partner? £#%&!ing hell. Your job is to kick a ball around for 90 minutes lad. If you can't get up for that God help you if you ever have to get out in the real world. Harry Arter went through a far more tragic event and was able to help his team. Football is escapism.

And Mkhitaryan - if his training performances are so bad he can't make the squad then how good must Fellaini be in training that he makes the team?
