I dunno if it's a coincidence but real madrids last few league games ( bar barca ) have been v's clubs that sound like cheap holiday locations, beating them all by half a dozen goals.
Fair enough no ones gonna watch a Wolfsburg v eintracht game on tv.

La Ligas a disgrace of a leagu

I hope LVG brings counter attacking pace back to Utd.
Not with the current set of forwards and midfielders, Di Maria aside.

Valencia is quick but reluctant to use it. It is one of the reasons I found the summers transfers so odd, not the incomings so much but getting rid of Welbeck, Hernandez, Nani and Kagawa stripped the squad of a lot of attacking pace. Flirted with 3-5-2, dropped it after the squad had been tailored to fit that system.

Not many great teams in recent history who have been slow going forward.

united's problems on the counter are less to do with pace and far far more to do with accuracy, quickness and weight of passing, decision-making and basic control of the £#%&!ing ball

I was thinking as much that they all want too many touches/have too many poor touches.

comes down to how they're drilled, surely

for ages now it's looked all very off the cuff, and when confidence isn't high that stuff invariably exposes a player's weaknesses

Quite possibly, there are those comfortable with and capable of the fast paced 1/2 touch stuff and then those that aren't, no matter the drilling.
