Re: SAF speaks at Jimmy Reid's funeral
marvellous speech that, Sandman.
Hints toward the education and rejuvenation of the 'bewildered herd', something that would take a generation or more to acheive. THe damage inflicted since '72 - year of my birth - seems insurmountable when you witness the likes of the jeremy kyle show. Would love to believe we aren't completely lost to the corporate lie. |

SAF is a hypocrite, on the one hand he plays his ex-union card to make him seem like one of 'you' and on the other hand he sides with the Glazers who are pricing the working man out of the game they love. In addition to that, he does his best to undermine any protest the working man may try to make. He doesn't practice what he preaches but that has nothing to do with the fact he's a multi-millionaire and everything to with the fact that he's helping the Glazers price the working man out of OT. Still, you're one of the ones who puts his fingers in his ears and refuses to hear anything that doesn't agree with your warped view of the world. Open your eyes you daft @#%&!. |

However, there's always the possibility that Ferguson sees the prospect of himself being ousted from the club by his reaction to a temporary regime as being counter-productive. We're not privy to the same kinds of information he almost certainly is, given his uniquely privileged position at O.T. Maybe he has a date for their £#%&!ing off? Maybe he has a plan to join in a consortium bid after retiring? Who the £#%&! knows? You can only speculate as to his motives. I'm not sure calling him a '@#%&!' is called for. (like people do) |

But ever thought, like reem said, that he is taking a longer term view? Some day (hopefully) soon, the gimps will be gone - and he has to preserve his legacy as best he can thinking about his successor?? If he has to say a few somewhat insincere things in "support" of the Glazers in the meantime, he no doubt judges that a price worth paying........ |

Re: SAF speaks at Jimmy Reid's funeral
Again, I don't necessarily disagree.
Just that you have to remember that his comments are aimed at the press, even via match programmes, and if anything is true about his reputation for mind games, it's that he holds great stock in portraying a happy camp and hopes to exploit divisions in rival camps. His horse shenanigans and his abandoned quit declaration gave the lie to this, and he's certainly far from infallible. All I'm saying is that as distasteful as we SHOULD find some of his comments, we can't be certain of his motives. So for old time's sake, perhaps it's fitting that we give him the benefit of the doubt. For now. Time will tell whether he's truly tainted his legacy. |

So he's protected his position just like every £#%&!ing player at the club including the local ones like Gary "Shop Steward" Neville. Not one of them walked and that includes Ole who made some noises when the gimps took over, was told to shut the £#%&! up and is now comfy running the Reserves. I disagree with Fergusons approach - I think he should say nothing about the ownership but to single him out is unfair. I hated his position on the Coolmore horse and I disagree with his £#%&!y knighthood as I do with all honours. But to criticise him for attending and speaking at Reid's funeral is just too black and white - we all live lives with some shades of grey. |
