It’s not the clubs fault btw. They’re just pushing the limits of the rules utilising their resources, for their benefit. Obviously all clubs are or would like to be doing it to some degree but aren’t as wealthy or well organised, all resources having to be pointed at the first team to keep their heads above water. Clearly it’s up to the powers that be to regulate it properly, and the changing of the loan rules is a step in the right direction. Chelsea had 40 layers out at one point, or something stupid like that. It stalls and ruins careers, it reduces competition and is bad for the game.
Selling players to preferred clubs for low-ish fees with all sorts of clauses is the replacement of the loan system imo. So that’s the next thing that needs gripping. Southampton have had 4(?) players off City this summer and 3 or 4 off Chelsea in recent times, there’s not a chance there’s no quid pro quo going on somewhere, imo. |

Football finance analysts Off The Pitch Revenues have estimated that revenues at Manchester City have surpassed those of rivals Manchester United and Liverpool with the Premier League champions expected to post a figure of £608 million. The report predicted that Manchester United’s revenues - historically the largest in England - have slipped to third in the Premier League. Revenues at Anfield will reach a club-record £602.1million last season – £20.7m higher than United’s predicted revenues of £581.4m. |
