Article in the Mail (I know).

Pretty dull apart from Paddy being Paddy, but worth a read none the less.

MS: They used to sing: 'You'll walk a million miles to the end of his nose.' Charming. You have to get on with it. I used to conduct the United fans as they sang. And then I blew my nose on the corner flag at the Stretford End.

PC: Yes, and you were standing on the halfway line at the time!

Interesting to see Ando is predominently in favour here.

seems to have settled down and is finding his form again. early days but that goal can do nothing but good for his confidence

as long as we don't play rooney up front alone i reckon we'll murder them

but then again i would say that

hargreaves and scholes both out and two good performances by anderson (spurs & besiktas). a fairly easy choice, unless you fancy nani - giggs - fletcher - valencia, which is a bit lightweight for the derby imo.

i'll be interested to see if he doesn't go with neville. got a sneaking feeling he might, especially if rio is out.

Foster(by default)

Brown
Ferdinand(very doubtful again eh, dunk)
Vidic
Evra

Valencia
Fletcher
Anderson
Nani

Rooney
Berbatov

Giggs should come in with half an hour left or something to make an impact, we cant afford him messing about for a whole 1st half like in the Arsenal game.

giggs

nani

notes -
cant afford to have carrick and vidic in the starting 11 as they seem to save their 'stinkers' for big games.
scholes with big andy and fletcher looked good against a combatitive spurs midfield
rooney will get chances and with nani a threat and giggs the play maker we will creat enough chances to score goals.
valencia is far too one dimensional for this game. we need more that just hit, run and cross in this game

Rio is Reds' only doubt

Even if City are without several big-name strikers, United will still want to field a first-choice defence in Sunday's hotly-anticipated Manchester derby at Old Trafford.

Whether Sir Alex Ferguson has that luxury rests on a training session at Carrington today (Friday) in which Rio Ferdinand needs to prove his fitness.

The central defensive stalwart made his first league appearance of the season only last weekend, when the Reds impressively won 3-1 at Totenham Hotspur. But Rio then reported a groin problem in training the next day and consequently wasn't risked in Tuesday night's Champions League victory over Besiktas.

"Rio has to do some good training today if he's to be in with a chance," admitted Sir Alex in his pre-match press conference on Friday morning.

If Ferdinand fails the fitness test then Jonny Evans will deputise once again.

More to follow...

as scholes is out.

the only viable alternative is to push giggs back into scholes position then put berbatov uptop with nani and rooney.
