First time I got nicked at a match was there in the early 90's. Got a few digs in the pub pre-match. Thrown out by the stewards after an hour. Arrested and cautioned for trying to punch the stewards. Got punched again at the train station on my way home.

Good anecdotes led to free pints back in New Moston though. Great days and that...

My nana bought me the scarf for Crimbo. I was 14 and had been separated from the main escort. Bigger boys got me in the park and demanded it. I stood my ground, they hurt me and pinched it. I went to the nearest copper who had an Alsatian which lunges at me. I explained what had happened and was told “ tough shit you shouldn’t have come”.

I got an equaliser a few years later when they were last game of the season.
