Like everything else negative that happens to him, this will be someone else’s fault.

Like martial, Sancho and shaw, he isn’t professional enough to maintain a good enough standard for United, and has used his ‘Lady Di of school dinners’ reputation to deflect from his football mentality inadequacies.

Harsh imo....

The two can be separated..... What he did for those kids was a good thing.

Stock is currently rock bottom...

This is a huge blow for him....

Stupid £#%&!ing guy.
Yep. It feels sad. Given his ability, he should be one of our and England’s most important players. Instead, he’s gone backwards and rightly behind the likes of Anthony Gordon and Amad Diallo.

If he’s here next season, he needs to massively improve. No excuses. Stop taking criticism as some personal attack and just get back.

Watching that 99 doc really does hammer home the difference in mentality

Since when did being a dick and playing like a @#%&! warrant exclusion from the England squad?

I don't want to absolve anyone of blame least of all this @#%&! but there's simply too many players who have been at the club over the last 10 years to which we end up saying the same things about 'toxic' 'mercenary' etc. There is something about the club which gets the very worst out of players, guarantee if you swapped our recruitment with Liverpool's since Klopp took over they would still have been successful and we would still have been a mess.

I lost all patience with him this season. He was absolutely world class last year but his attitude is disgusting. Arguably the worst attitude of any player at the club.

Putting them on huge salaries the minute they get a sniff of the first team - for no apparent reason - can't help.

Same with putting the likes of Anthony on £200k a week.

It's like someone watched Brewsters Millions and decided to use that as a template for running the business.

It was just a PR campaign.

Totally. But his ‘brand’ subsequently became all about that, not about football, and his desire to play the game has diminished along with it, aside from the 6 months or so last year when he ‘proved’ everyone wrong.

If more PR campaigns resulted in hungry kids getting fed then that'd probably be a good thing.

im diagnosing covert narcism. -

* on off relationships
* likes flash things/cars
* doesnt respond well to criticism
* blames others - lack of accountability
* likes to be seen doing good things

if any a level phschology heads could consider this with their thoughts im here to learn

Oh I don’t disagree. He’s a product of the decline of standards of the club overall.

I don’t necessarily think he’s toxic and wouldn’t wish any players formative years to come from the set up of the last few years, but I do think we’ve lowered the bar of what’s expected. The standards have dropped and so has the standard of what and who we produce.

Hopefully it’s a wake up call for him personally and INEOS can raise the standard overall

Southgate very frank with why he isn’t going. There’s 12 ‘forwards’ listed, so there’s really no excuses for him to not make it

His own teammate Mainoo has managed it in about half a season, up against some talented alternatives

Sure, but he was getting lauded like he just woke up one day and decided to start a campaign, rather than ROC nation likely telling him it would do wonders for his social media exposure and doing all the leg work for their 20%.
