Rooney will be out for a few weeks now apparently.
Which is why he played with an ankle injury during the 06/07 run in

i meant he seems to have a red card amnesty.

he is about as useful as rooney was for the last 5 minutes, though.

Good three points but a sloppy performance. Ground out the win, which is a mark of potential champions though.

People need to lay off Obertan. He wasn't that bad and its the first chance he's had in ages. He did okay. I'd rather see him out wide than Gibson in the middle.

Rooney was outstanding. Hopefully the injury isn't too bad as we need him.

Top of the league. Unbeaten. Nani, Scholes, Park and Valencia all to come back over the next few weeks. Onwards and upwards.

our midfield was all over the place, failing to pass to our own players and failing to close down. ando was also trying stupid through balls. they picked up where they left off.

we should have won because we were 1-0 up and cheated out of it. but the midfield were shit.

Thought Obertan did bloody well today for a player who's not starting games. His crossing was shit but so was Fletches, and nobody complains about that.

obertan is shit. he was good for the first five minutes, but he either thinks... in which case he dawdles on the ball.... or he runs along looking at his feet. he is totally unaware of where his team mates are and can barely run with the ball. he confuses defenders. and his team. and himself. he is also a spindly lightweight, he and fletch should stick to michael jackson videos.

what about hargreaves?! (also giggs > park)

How many opportunities has Obertan really had?

He gets his first away start for United today and after a miserable performance from the majority of the team some people are calling for him to be sold? Ridiculous.

I'm not saying he's gonna be a superstar, but give the kid a chance ffs. He's done no worse than the likes of Gibson, who's played double the games.

gibson has scored some cracking (match-winning) goals and set up berba against birmingham. and people are calling for him to be sold too.

Fair enough if you think that.

I always think young players need a good chance before we £#%&! them off.

I remember when Ronaldo first came to United a lot of Reds complained that he was a useless one-trick pony. I'm not saying Obertan is gonna become the best player in the world, but I see ability there.

please do not compare the young ronaldo and the young obertan.

ronaldo clearly had enormous talent. he needed polishing (still does). you can't polish an obertan.

The point about the Obertan/Gibson comparison is that Obers has some potential and ability, whereas the impression you get from Gibbo is that he will never be better than he is now.

Which isn't a within a million miles of being good enough for United
