Hardly DDG’s biggest fan but having a go at him for not stepping down to the Saudi league is pretty ridiculous criticism.

I see the best that the Einsteins have mustered up as a viable replacement is some no-mark from £#%&!ing Brentford.

Looks like the contract extension is moving ahead. Ten Hag knows, and #DaveStays One of the greatest players in our club’s history, NQAT.

Spain manager prefers same no mark.

Anyway i’m glad we’ve locked him down what with all the external interest, being a quality keeper on a free he obviously would have had his pick…..

Do you not get fed up with him needing another player to kick the ball up the pitch for him?

Staying at United on £200k a week to be sub keeper, not having to move or uproot his family is just the smart thing to do.

Not offering him a new contract would be smarter.

As long as he isn’t transferring his knowledge to any new keeper we bring in.

He's been here since Ferguson but still can't kick a ball to his own players. What do the goal keeping coaches do ffs

I don’t get why you have a point of “ well who should replace him?” It’s not the forums responsibility to scout for the club. The club should have a suitable network in place and sign a new player that can replace him and is good enough for United.

We watch de gea play, we are in a position to judge him. Your argument of “well who should replace him then?!” Isn’t a viable point that de gea should still not be at the club.

Ter-Stegen, Oblak, Bono, the lad at Milan or inanimate carbon rod all an immediate improvement on a lad who was once dropped for Dean Henderson.

Just about any keeper from any of the top 5 leagues would be an upgrade, same reason not a single team from those leagues have been linked or shown any interest and have meant he’s had to accept a pay cut and a lesser role here.

Wasn’t golden gloves holding out for more before the Cup final?

Now taking £200k ? Wonder what changed

200k still way too much. He'll mentally check out (even more than before) once the contract is signed.

He'll be a seething bag of resentment that he's had to take a massive pay cut whilst his manager has made it clear he's searching for alternatives.

Is it actually a new contract or are we just activating a clause to extend by a year?

Those wondering why we can't shift deadwood need look no further than this goat-faced gimp who can't find a club even as a free agent

Seems to be living his best life on Instagram. Probably thinks he’s done what he needs to and doesn’t fancy the step down. Very similar to Eric in character.

Either he signs for a Turkish club this week or he's unable to play until January, it's a touch bizarre that someone who has been first choice for us for a decade can't find gainful employment
