Tied with Antony for my favourite player, absolute beast.

There was a ball dropping first half just inside our half that he was battling with Kane for, he contorted his body, twisted round then jumped back, into and across Kane to win the ball with a header and it just looked so odd, Kane was flummoxed Maguire/Lindelof would’ve just stood there while Kane won the ball.

He wins the ball by any means necessary and will not be beaten. Won every header too, afaik. Monster.

Aggressive little bastard isn't he? Absolutely love him.

I don't understand players sometimes, obviously he's a superb defender and composed, but if so many players in the squad just had his attitude they'd get a lot more leeway..... it's not that hard to give a £#%&!, is it?

Tbf The Scottish Player has a similar attitude but is often shit on by supporters.

You can tell Varane's loving having a dirty snide bastard next to him again. He can just glide around being awesome whilst mini-Ramos gets down and dirty.

Great to see.

Not that similar. He's scared. Of receiving the ball in tight spaces and playing difficult passes. He's scared because he's not a good enough footballer and by attempting these skills on a regular basis, he'll expose himself.

Again, don't hate him, but he shouldn't be a starter.

Yeah you’re right.

Attitude isn’t always about running round and smashing into players.

Martinez is a future captain.

Top top defender. His passing ability is underrated. If he was at city commentators/pundits would be jizzing over him like they do over ederson

Is anyone still convinced he'll better as a defensive midfielder?

If he played there he would be brilliant. He has all the attributes. That’s not to say he isn’t a great defender.

Reminds me of Buchan the way he sniffs danger. More aggressive/not as cool.

Remember when the pundits were claiming Ruben Dias was the second coming of Christ. Martinez not getting that level or adulation yet but sure it will come soon...

Great again.

Genuinely think he’s the best defender in the league.

Signing of the season for me Geoff/Jeff.

Aye, him and Cas, together won’t give up many goals. Shame about McT’s brainfart. Wouldn’t have conceded in 4 but for that.
