Leipzig, Southampton, Leeds, Sociedad. "Well done United, but..."

Is it not possible for us to just put in a really good performance?
Teams often "play into" city's hands as well, the chances of that are a lot higher if you are a good side.

excellent performance from the lads....one of the better european performances we've had in the past couple of season bar the PSG game

good to see them defend well and punish teams on the counter....more importantly to put some shots on frame and make the keeper do some bloody work

kills the tie.....really should play a lot of reserves for the second leg and give players a rest during a busy stretch before the international break

james shit or not....he's got to play just for rotation purposes to keep guys fresh

against a team like sociedad that wants to have the ball, it suits him perfectly because he presses well and his pace on the counter is frightening

He's probably the best Daniel we've had at the club.

Henderson has better distribution and controls his area, Maguire looks more secure.
His time is coming..

Dear Michael Phelan,

I know you get hundreds of fan letters everyday, so I'll get straight to the point.

Where did you get that jacket you wore to Turin?

Yours sincerely,

“We scored some good goals and played some nice football,” he told BT Sport. “We deserved to win but maybe not by four goals. On a night like this when we find spaces we can be a dangerous team.

“We had to defend well, they have some terrific players up front and we earned the right to counter-attack quickly. They opened up and we got the spaces we wanted.

“Every team attacks you, it’s about finding the moments to find the space.”

Looking to dampen expectations around his side, Solskjaer insisted they still had improvements to make.

“We are a work in progress, we are learning and some games we have not been able to win lately,” he starkly stated.
