If our defence had been fit since the start of the season we'd be top of the league and you wouldnt be saying this. I'm confident if we avoid injuries we'll win the league. There's nothing to fear about Chelsea. As usual our biggest obstacle is our injury prone players.
if this and that.. the bottom line is we should have beaten fulham and everton away but we did'nt, we were lucky to get a point away at sunderland.. the only defender fergie could'nt pick because of injury against fulham and everton was rio.. so that excuse does'nt wash.. our keeper is grand, as is our defence and our wingers and forwards, we are lacking big time in centre midfield.. if (there is that word again ) we had a fully fit hargreaves, a fully fit and motivated anderson and a 25 year old scholes then we would be laughing.. but we have'nt...

I cant remember many, you need to go back to 06/07 when we were a bit naive in the 2nd half at OT for that 1-1 draw and possibly the game in between the CL semis in 2008 when we had our eyes on other stuff and they needed to win the game more than us.

Look at the Stamford Bridge games in 2008 and 2009 and the OT game in 2009. And the recent Charity Shield.

I don't even hate Chelsea or anything, I just find the overhyping strange.
It's not just us v Chelsea though is it? It's about 38 league games, plus all the cup games on top of it, which makes it so ridiculous that we're so reliant on a 35 year-old whose legs aren't what they were.

Can you honestly say our midfield did a good job of protecting the defence against Fulham, Everton or Sunderland? Do you think it created enough chances for our strikers against Valencia and Sunderland?

Not much though. Tbf, at least he had the sense to admit Benitez had tons of cash to spend at Liverpool.

I think he might be a bit mental, he looked like he was gonna bite Souness at one point.

Wenger: "We dominated this game quite surprisingly in my opinion. It was surprisingly easy. But we go home with 0 points"

Keeping possession is the new winning.

its the centre of midfield that is the problem not the defence.. the reason evans has been looking like a rabbit caught in the headlights, is that he has not protection on front of him.. with the centre midfielders we have available at the moment we have to play three in there.. when we play 2 we get over run.. what we'd give for a 23 year old roy keane.. as much as we all loved him as a player, its only at times like this that you realise how £#%&!ing good he was.. a monster of a player..

Thumbs down Re: Todays games

Arsenal are so £#%&!ing cowardly it's untrue.Yes, pulverise teams like West Brom.... sorry, bad example... pulverise shite sides at home and they're proclaimed the worlds greatest footballing club but come up against any top team, and they're £#%&!ing woeful.Especially when they play Chelsea - they just dont believe they can win.How many times around Chelsea's box were they - pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, give ball away or pass, pass, pass, pass, put harmless cross into nobody because their forwards and midfield dont want to get hurt trying to get on the end of something? £#%&!ing wimps they are, always will be.

All this £#%&!ing "We'll win things the right way" %@#$&!s from Wenger. What, without tackling and putting some grit into it?Some of their player are sufferring from Wengers 'My players are targeted' bullshit and look genuinely scared when a tackle needs putting in.This particular bunch of Wenger fannies who wont win a £#%&!ing thing until they grow some balls.

Today was totally predictable.Chelsea will batter them at the Emirates too.

Yes, I know. That does not alter the fact the defence looks hugely better with him in it.

There would not have been the slightest chance of us failing to beat Everton had he been playing

We've got 5 excellent central midfielders plus Gibbo. 1 of them long term injured, 2 just coming back. Think we'll be ok there when everyone's fit.

Left wing is light for me.
