They’re the biggest signal of the club’s plummeting standards. We were all so angry watching Smalling @#%&! out of challenges as city won the league 7 years ago. And here he still is. Has he improved in that time? Has any other club ever been even remotely interested in him? Would he have ever got in Madrid’s squad?

Buy also-ran players, play them year after year after year, become an also-ran club. It’s quite straightforward really.

If Smalling and Jones aren't good enough for England they aren't good enough for United but playing week in week out.
