Oh dear.

Quote:
Dan Ashworth sent an email to a Newcastle United address inadvertently revealing he was being tapped up by incoming Manchester United chief executive Omar Berrada, who was still on gardening leave from Manchester City.

It is an embarrassing blunder and error of judgement on the part of the two men who will be charged with restructuring Man United by new co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, and could be looked at by the Premier League.

We can reveal the pair had a conversation in early February and Ashworth followed that up by sending an email to Berrada - at an INEOS account - making it clear he wanted to accept the opportunity of becoming Man United’s sporting director.

So what? Absolute nothing story.

I half think he bcc-ed 'by accident' deliberately. Probably expected to be offered better terms.

This fella agrees. Of course, because it’s us, the level of scrutiny this deal is getting is ridiculous. The articles read like we’re in for some £100m striker. He’s a suit. We’ll get him and pay some daft fee, which will still be peanuts on the scheme of things

This. It's a bit odd that Newcastle would've been aware of this months ago, but didn't realise it was an issue until Craig Hope came to the rescue.

But this one 'exclusive' will get more attention than all the combined coverage of Cities title win. So there's that.

His problem is not the Premier League rules. It's his employment contract.

We don’t know the ins and outs of his contract. However for argument let’s say it was stated on his contract any approval informal or otherwise has to be sent to Newcastle.

Now the article states this all happened before Man Utd formal approach. Which means Newcastle have known about it for a while because it would have come about way earlier . It’s a nonsense story which means nothing.

Newcastle would have started any proceedings (if possible). It’s just a way to put pressure on United and sell their shit rag paper or get likes and views on a website .
