Watched a couple of seasons of Stoke at that ground when Bally was in charge, knew the guy that used to get the crowd going (like a quite funny Pete Boyle). TJ his name was. Used to be a decent atmosphere tbf. Used to go to the social club just outside the ground, then to the pub just across from that (the Vic, is it?).

Yeah, I remember that social club. Had to do door work on there a couple of times, pre-game.

This was a little after the time you mentioned. A mate of mine worked there & when Utd were due to play them in the League Cup, I asked if he could get me a job there just for that game. He couldn't for that game but was able for their league game the following Saturday & from then on.

The AC Milan one is class. Parents have had timeshare in Tenerife for the best part of 30 years and there was an Italian family out there at the same time, the son spoke perfect English and taught me the words to that and a load of lines to use on girls. I’ve forgotten all of it.

Hate is often replaced with £#%&!ed in that song and emerald green is usually tangerine (Dundee Utd).
