Latest press speculation -Saudi government would support private sector Saudi bids for Manchester United and Liverpool.

That'd be fun.

That would be ok, so long as every day at United was Sunni, and for Liverpool it was Shiite.

Apple would be a dream....it basically controls the fate of the Nasdaq.

However, I can't see why a company with a net worth over a trillion dollars would find any profitability in buying a football club.

I imagine a lot of these rich owners are putting more in than they're getting out of a club???

Dubai is the way to go! Success on the pitch is now all about the $$$'s

Apple considering a $7 billion Manchester United offer

In a shock twist to the Manchester United sale saga, reports emerged at the end of last week that tech giant Apple was considering a bid for the English Premier League club. The club’s controlling owners, the Glazer family, are said to be exploring a sale after more than15 years in charge, with Apple looking to bid around $7 billion, which would make it the most expensive football club sale in history. Apple is reportedly interested in the commercial opportunities of owning a major sporting franchise.

It's like Katie Price walking in a club and getting all the attention. And then in comes Emily Ratajkowski.

First thing Apple would do is jack up ticket prices by about 30%.

Can't see them being interested at all, only football tv rights.

I don't see Apple's motivation to buy. Isn't it the lack of potential for increased TV rights that is making all the yanks sell? United live and exclusive on Apple TV would do wonders for their subscription numbers, but right now isn't a remotely realistic option.

And it's not like Apple needs the match day/commercial revenue.

Can't see it.
