It’s a shame he didn’t come to us but given our recent decline, City’s unlimited wealth and money splurging, manager pull, family ties and all that then we were probably never serious contenders.

Reckon he’ll be there 4-5 years then schlep off to Spain to rack up even higher numbers.

Let’s not sound too bitter eh?
Nobody is denying the fact he's going to score a lot of goals. It's city ffs, they score a lot of goals regardless. They'd have probably scored 5 goals at least against Forest with Gabriel Jesus still up front. If City can create enough chances for Raheem Sterling to score 25 goals a season it should be no problem for someone like Haaland.

But i'll be £#%&!ed if i'm going to sit there crying and keep bttt the thread every time he scores because United didn't sign him. What's the point? We've missed out on the likes of Alan Shearer, Ronaldinho, Eden Hazard, Karim Benzema down the years to name a few and that was when we were good.

Oh and just an aside - we were serious contenders but apparently refused to put the £130m release clause in his contract from 2024 that his dad and Raiola wanted. There's a reason teams like bayern, Madrid and Barcelona didn't go anywhere near him despite the fact they all wanted a CF .....and it wasn't for anything as sentimental as £#%&!ing "manager pull and family ties" it's because they didn't fancy the £40 million in agents fees on top of the 51 million transfer and then a relatively modest release clause in 2024.

And I bet not one of them asked how city managed to sign potentially the best striker on the planet for just over 50m. Maybe because the answer would be: they didn't. And that doesn't suit the narrative.

It's been the same for years. Anything city spend is downplayed anything we spend is inflated. They add on wages, bonuses and the cab fare to get to the £#%&!ing airport when we sign anyone. Yet suddenly everyone just magically forgets about the trivial 40 odd million quid on top of the transfer fee...funny that. They never did it with Pogba. It was always "89 Million Pogba", "Pogba cost 89 million" etc etc.

If he really cost just 51 million does anyone really think that a club like bayern or £#%&!ing Barcelona wouldn't have been on it? Jesus christ journos in this country are absolute lemmings.

Robbie Savage… enough said. Comparing his learnings of DOF at Macc Town to that of an elite club.

Meh, its weird but I find it pretty difficult to care.

He's going to be the next great player in world football but, like everything around City, it just feels totally meaningless.

I'd have been far more perturbed had he ended up at Liverpool.

Exactly. I assume it was the fact that his agent and dad demanded 40 million that stopped these clubs bidding. Jesus, City making Madrid and Barca look like ethical clubs

I heard Sinclair this morning going on about a great net spend. The package for this mutant was near £200m the stupid bastard.

Erling Haaland could leave Manchester City after just two and a half years to satisfy his desire to 'test out every league,' his dad Alfie has revealed.

Speaking on the newly-released documentary 'Haaland - The Big Decision' on Viaplay, the former Manchester City and Leeds player said 'he could have two-and-a-half years in Germany, two-and-a-half in England, and then in Spain, Italy and France'.
Satisfy his and his fathers desire you get big fat signing on fee's he means.

That's why he's got the release clause for 2024.

He doesn't give a shit about City.
