If they want £80m then £60m is a good starting point. Meet in the middle at £70m with a few add ons and deal done. People forget that not many players go for over £70m and especially not after a pandemic. I know Ed is notoriously tight with bids but they know he wants to go and we're the only club he wants to join.

It's most likely going to be the usual story where United try and spin the agreed add ons as being only a possibility where in reality they're so easily achievable as to be effectively guaranteed payments.

Still think Haaland will go play for Chelsea 3-4 seasons before Mino punts him to one of Bayern or Real/Barca. (whichever Spanish club has their act together by then)

I'd happily spend this AND next years total budget just on Haaland.

If Chelsea do get him they should be pushing City hard next season.
