And he subbed him at HT at the weekend. My moneys says Alli went straight to Levy and started bitching. What a fall from grace.

Well it will be interesting to see if he can recapture any of the old spark if he goes back to Spurs.

Personally, suspect its pretty much gone for good.

Thank god. He's had 13 big injuries at Madrid. With our luck he'd have been Sanchez in a wig.

EDIT:....Just remember who their £#%&!ing manager is. How can they allow Jose to sign Bale after Sanchez? Jose could easily be sacked this season and signing a pricey crock is his speciality.

I feel like he's been smeared badly by the whole Madrid situation, his agent is a genius getting him those wages but it's clearly such a £#%&!ing obscene amount of money that it clouds everything else around him.

He's 31 though, so a years loan is honestly as much as you'd wish to gamble on but it is a tantalising proposition. Wages wise Madrid would save £15m if they even covered half which is sensible, no other club is ever paying more than that or even a loan fee (unless it was nominal).

I'd go for it, especially if he is looking to prove something (seems unlikely but you never know).

Hope he goes to Spurs. Mistake to take him. He hates us doesn't he? Not a chance he'd put the effort in.

That whole spurs doc was injury based....perfect club for him. He will do really well and then miss most the season.

Not like Spurs are on a knife edge with their empty new ground or anything.....

Alan Smith "hated" United, but put in a shift for us even if he wasn't the most highly talented at the club.

That doesn't bother me about Bale, his possibly being on the downward slope for good does. Maybe he will still show something at Spurs, but rather them than us tbh.

Yeah Maicon was shitting his pants whenever Bale got the ball in that game against Inter. That was ten years ago though, although i think it's hard to judge how he would fair now back in the PL after a messy few years in Madrid. If it's a yes or no question then yes i'd like to see him on the wing at OT.

If the question is/was Bale for a year or no-one, I'd probably have taken him to bulk up the squad at least.

Reckon he could do well if managed properly, but then you're carefully managing the game time of someone you're paying at least 300k per week, and there's always a massive risk he gets crocked.

I can't decide whether it would be a good bit of business, or a horrific waste of money.

For what they're going to be paying, he literally will have to drag them almost single handedly into the top 4 to make it worth while won't he? Not sure after very little football over the past 12 months he's going to do that.

Exceptional player on his day but not sure I'd be thrilled if I was a spurs fan. Aren't they better off getting 2-3 reinforcement for that squad?
