When Ajax were winning, the commentator mused on how Klopp would be instructing his forwards to target Daley.

Smalling is a much better centre back. He's good in the air and his positional sense is usually very good. He's not good enough for United by a million miles but he's better than Blind. Just a shame he can't kick a ball.

Jones and Bailly have been decimated by injuries. They might have been decent if they had a better run.

The winner came from llorente putting himself on De Ligt.

Blind is ten times the footballer Smalling is; unfortunately for him he’s unlikely to get bigger or quicker. Tough in the modern game.

Tbf Llorente was bullying both of them
Couldn't cope with the long balls
Hate saying this but Spurs won by doing what Jose said they should do in the build up to the tie

Liverpool would have completely over run and over powered that Ajax side in the final

This. It's not that the Dutch league is easy for him to look good in, he is clearly a quality player and across most leagues in Europe he'd slot into the top sides. The PL is a different beast though; the standard of the football itself isn't particularly good outside of the top 2/3, but it's a tough league to excel in because of the physicality.

Yeah, was watching the first half and all that was on my mind was that Liverpool have won the European Cup.

Spurs actually have a chance.

That's why he played 90% of the games in our best defence on record since Fergie left as CB.

Agreed on him slotting into most defences in Europe

Worldie.

He might be good for a team like Barca or City who keep the ball for 70% of the match and rarely have to defend. For anyone else he's an utter liability.

Awful positional sense, is easily bullied and he makes Mata look like Linford Christie.

They got back into the game with a brilliant flowing piece of football tbf. And Ajax kept hitting the post. Sometimes we look for tactical narratives when the match is decided on taking your chances. Llorente caused problems but it’s a wonder Ajax didn’t score second half.

Yet as Bunks says he was excellent at CB for us in a season in which we had a good defensive record.

Tadic, 3 on 2, plays the laziest pass through for the runner giving keeper an 80:20 chance

2 minutes later Tadic again, right corner of the area cuts in and shoots well over with 2 coming in back stick unmarked.

That's why Southampton sold him.

Hasn’t changed her name to Blind on IG yet, bit disrespectful?

Might leave him a comment to point it out, just in case he’s having second thoughts
