I have major disagreements with Hasan and his politics but this struck me as a bit strange and at odds with my perception of him

I was curious enough to google ' Mehdi Hasan says Non-Muslims are Animals ' and see if his remarks were taken out of context , a case of youthful raging against the man etc

First article was this reply from him which i'll post in the interests of fairness

as a defence it rings somewhat hollow. he literally believes every word of the Koran. he has asid as much. he literally believes that Mohammed rode to the moon on a horse and split it in half with his sword because that is what it says in the Koran.

the passage in the Koran in which non believers are derided as cattle etc is also the literal word. we can assume then that this is what he thinks of non believers as it is the literal word of god. that he considers some muslims also to be cattle is of no consequence.

TBH I don't give a fuck about people's religious beliefs.IMO it's just a book of stories to underpin a system of control but if it brings people comfort as individuals then that's their business and good on them.

As long as the state and religion are kept apart and religious types leave my belief systems alone then who am I to dictate to them.

Old video about BMC testing their new car engines to destruction (at 20k miles). They were testing them on the Autobahns, presumably as there were no available UK motorways at the time.

Whats interesting is that although the cars are obviously British models, they have left hand drive, which means that we were building cars for export to Germany... oh how times have changed
