Had a lot to make up for after this to be fair to the lad:

Slowly redeeming himself...

Lingard and Nani probably have the 2 best goal compilations from Utd players in recent memory. Start getting the tap ins and he can be a 15-20 goal a season man.

From basic fundamentals really. Moving well off the ball, good timing on his runs, understanding when to pass and the areas he needs to attack. I read a comparison somewhere to Thomas Mueller, might be a stretch, but the similarities are that they are more effective than more outwardly talented players because of their intelligence and reading of the game.

Coming up to 12 months since I made that comparison. Laughed at by some - won't name them - but the evidence is laid for all to see now.

Individual quality is improving too which is very good to see. Now he is in the middle and can dovetail with the other forwards rather than when he played mostly on the wing where the space is more closed off.

Always liked Jesse tbh, will always back him to score (check my predictions on the first scorer threads)

His off the ball running makes us such a better side.

If he has done nothing else at United, JM has improved Lingard hugely.

Has he though? Or is it just a lad who actually cares about playing for the club and is keen to take his chance...

He has improved & if the failure of Rashford to improve is blamed totally on Jose then its only fair that the improvement of jesse be accredited to Jose .
Probable truth is neither of these are true.

Still disappointed with his name on the team sheet I’m afraid. Has to do a lot more consistently to lose his lowly status.

Not what I said at all. Does help that I've already got my flounce of the year nomination ready.
