Default Barca & Messi...

Could be an interesting summer in Catalonia

They’ve been run terribly. Probably just angling for another stupid contract which they’ll give to him, hamstringing themselves even further.

imo Messi is toxic now. He undermines managers and has done for years. Obviously one of the greatest players of all time but still.

In 2017, he signed a four-year extension that included a stipulation allowing him to leave the club for free at the end of any season. His current contract continues through June 2021,

If Messi had any ambition left about him, he'd try a fresh challenge for the last few good years he's got.

There is nothing more to win or prove there and, frankly, he deserves better than they are now

Look at the likes of Ronaldo, Zlatan, they want to keep achieving different things and have different experiences.

He could go anywhere he wants in the world. Why not go and experience the premier league or serie a or something.

if he actually genuinely is really available, then the only clubs that can afford him are oil clubs.

Isn't he on about 600k a week at barca as well?

If he ever somehow joined City then his legacy as possibly the greatest of all time is tainted

At least Ronaldo has only genuinely great clubs on his record

Imagine him at Bayern surrounded by players willing to bust a gut for him?

Probably go to City because they're an "interesting project".

Yeah, I really found that £2m a month very interesting.

Since 2004 he has had NINE new contracts, each more ridiculous than the last.
Barcelona's money troubles are largely down to accommodating Messi's greed. Whoever the next manager is would have to manage the end of Messi so in a lot of ways, I am sure the club would find it a great relief if he pulled the plug for them by leaving.

Would be funny him going to Juve. Most likely going to Italy as they have very lax tax laws.

Well if Ronaldo really is going, who "better" to replace him?
