Default Andy Cole: Goals, Fallouts & Being Rooney’s Idol

Those were the days.

Cole, York, Solskjaer, Sheringham.

Now we have a kid that no-one passes to.

Only scored 1 of his 5 chances every game though.

Listened to it this morning!

Love Andy Cole.

I try and not stare at him in the gym every day.

One of my favourite ever players. Criminally underrated. I used to get into fights at school defending him

Saw him having what seemed like a small cordial chat with Teddy in Madrid, a few years after they'd both retired. It didn't seem like either holds any grudges

Met him before the '11 final, absolutely top top guy. What a player.

Enjoyed that. It's good listening to the players we idolised chatting about old times.

Still think Shearer would have done a better job though.

At least wait for him to get out of the showers.

This. Had a couple of brief encounters and chats with him. Proper gent and an absolute beast of a number 9.

Met him randomly on my wedding day at Manchester Town Hall. Told me "don't do it".

It’s nice listening to Roy Keane not trying to play the character of “Roy Keane”.

Pointless contrarianism, performative grumpiness and endlessly digging out Neville…bloody hilarious.

Far more enjoyable just listening to him talking about football as one of the group. It’s so much more clear how much of a leader he is in that setting, almost like the older brother or the dad.

Yeah, you can tell what a good bloke Keane is when he's relaxed.

Ian Wright is the star of the show though. Would love to be mates with him

Cole scored some important goals nqat.

I thought he was very average for us up until around 98 though. And I’d have been over the moon to see Shearer replace him in 96.

Did brilliantly in the 98/99 season with York.

Enjoyed that and it was only about ten minutes before the end I relaised it was because Carragher wasn’t on it.

Jill Scott is hilarious, fair play to her. “I was the same when I got Kelly Smiths number 10 and had to respect the history of it”

yes, she was awful as always
asking andy cole how long he was at newcastle
wanting to see his goal vs spurs etc
as if she'd never even heard of him before he turned up to the studio
