You missed out the year they came fourth and won nothing. They didn't go from losing the Europa League final to the Champions League final the next season.

Klopp took over mid season and took them from 10th to 8th.

He then finished fourth and won nothing in his first full season.

He then finished fourth and won nothing in his second full season.

There was absolutely progress, but at the time Klopp had been at Liverpool as long as Solskjaer has been at United, he'd won nothing and there were questions being asked about his record in the biggest games because they had been to multiple semi-finals and finals and lost them all.

They'd also signed 18 players for £420 million between Klopp coming in and him first winning a trophy. He was given the chance to completely rebuild the squad.

Ole's had 9 players signed for £270m. Everybody agreed the squad he took over was terrible, and needed a overhaul. 9 signings that include Ighalo on loan and a kid who was immediately sent off on loan.

I think Klopp is a very good manager, but he didn't turn up and turn their shit team into world beaters overnight.

They signed Matip, Mane, Wijnaldum, Salah, Robinson, Oxdale-Chamberlain, Keita, Fabinho and Alisson. THEN they won something. They signed a keeper in his first season, but he didn't like him so they went out and bought him another one.

Just like Pep at City. Their clubs brought in managers, and didn't expect them to improve the team while making use of the same group of players.

2 of the players that played in Liverpool's Champions League win were playing for them when he took over. Compared to 8 who played in the final on Wednesday night for us.

Klopp and Pep went into their clubs and were allowed to completely rebuild the teams with players that suit their style. Pep took 24 months and 20 new players to take the Premier League Champions to being Premier League Champions. Ole has been at United for 6 months more than that and granted missed out on a trophy that we should have won.

Progress isn't just something that magically happens because a manager has been somewhere for a long time, the two examples of success in our league recently were given brand new squad.

Ole was given Maguire, Wan-Bissaka, James, Bruno, Ighalo, Van de Beek, Telles, Cavani and Diallo. I think all of those (Ighalo aside) have a place in the squad and have largely been good additions, but it's night and day compared to what Klopp and Pep were given.
