Question Funding / Grants for private businesses

I don't suppose any of you know anything about funding when setting up a private business?

The missus is setting up an after school club and a daycare centre and is after some funding. Unfortunately, the only people that want to give any funding effectively want to own the business as well (the council). It is a community minded project, but she wants to maintain Ownership of the name and background work she has put in over the last 18 months.

Does anybody know of any funding groups. (Not Dragon's Den)

Default Your local business link would be a

good starting point as they will have all the jen on local funding.

A good source of cash is the small firms loan guarantee scheme via the bank. Its also worth getting in touch with the relavant trade association.

Trade association is a good shout, something we've not tried. YHGR!
