Default In 1968 the average age of someone in the stretty was 17

and they paid 7.5pence for a ticket.

Today it is 42 and the average price is £33 quid.

It's a well trodden point but it's still a great one BRL.

42 surprises me but it says it all when it comes creating an atmosphere doesn't it?

Where OT’s vocal epicentre contains fans who spend 2 out of every 4 minutes worrying about mortgage rates and not spending enough time with the kids.

Heaven forbid there’s any nasty stuff with any away fans outside lest the Stretford End has to request a 20 minute warm up period before it goes off.

To be fair you have to take in the societial aspects such as 17 was probably the equivelant of today's 42 in 1968.

Ask youself this, would those 42 year olds stand up during a game? When seating was installed they were young lads, we've priced the young lads out of OT now and if safe standing was returned, the 42 year olds may not come back. This could leave a huge hole in Glazer's pockets. I reckon if standing was legalised, United still wouldn't go for it.

We need to change the outlook of the club, it's getting like the Conservative party, all it's supporters are getting old and there's a limited number to replace them.
