Default Ethnicity pay gap is it?

https://www.theguardian.com/society/...nicity-pay-gap

Quote:
A report into the gaps found they were caused not by black and minority ethnic (BME) employees being paid less for the same job, but by an under-representation of people from such backgrounds in senior jobs.
Oh, actually, no. Still, lets not let that change the latest drive for “equality”.

So you're saying white people are better than BME people when it comes to senior roles within organisations?

ok that puts the equality debate to bed.

You get paid the same lads, you just don't get the high paid jobs.

Given the proportion of ethnic groups within the population i’d say they were doing alright. And given that recent immigrants lack knowledge, skills, and contactsthat need to be built up over time it’s only to be expected that they have lower paid roles.

No story here apart from the relentless drive for unearned equality.

Equality is a legally enshrined right. Saying it needs to be "earned" is nonsense.

This

Quite interesting quote from the same article

"This mirrors the findings of a gender pay audit published by the mayoralty in late 2016, which found gaps ranging from nothing to more than 30% because of a lack of women in top jobs."

Not really. The right not to be discriminated against in certain spheres is a legal right. As the article points out those doing the same jobs are treated equally. There is no right for all races to be equally represented in all jobs regardless of ability.
