Thinking about climbing Mount Kinabalu in Malaysia

Not really a bucket list thing. Was on holiday there recently and had a view of the mountain from the room so thought it would be a challenge to get to the top. Do regular hiking and stuff but will need to up my fitness a fair bit.

Given my usual levels of motivation, there is a fair chance this won't happen, but if I rope in a few mates then more likely.

Look online for training schedules, there's loads of good ones

Get a decent pair of trainers specially fitted to your foot type

Stop running on the treadmill and get outdoors

Don't over do it and build up slowly, get in 4 runs a week with a long run (build up the distance slowly)

Do a few 5 and 10k races before as it'll give you confidence before you do the half.

For me I just want to get back into a routine tbh, did brilliant up until August. Got my deadlift and bench up and my running went up another level

But for the last three months it's all gone to shit with me being ill, Hopefully that's behind me and I can get back to what I was doing by spring.

The gym will be a nightmare for the next month until the 'New Year, New Me' gang give up.

Anyone started the 'new years diet' yet?

Usually get straight into it on the 1st of Jan but going to ease my way in this year

Still got a chocolate orange with my name on it.

I have the cardiovascular capabilities of an asthmatic ant with some heavy shopping
