For the thieving banksters maybe.....charging it on debt.....not passing it on to savers.....all quarter of a percent....wow .....

Why anyone would keep their excess wealth in banks is beyond me

I don't give financial advice.....only warnings

All depends on ones appetite for risk.

Banks are all risk and virtually zero gain

How are banks a risk...

The money in mine has never gone missing ?

Tell that to the cypriots ...or the Greeks even.

If you think that something similar cant happen here, then you're a mug

As soon as you hand your money over to the bank, its theirs and you've basically, lent them the money....if they go bust, you're at the end of a long line of people picking over the bones......government guarantees haven't got the funds to reimburse everyone fully.
