Default After school sports

My youngest came home with a letter from school advertising an after school amateur boxing club.
I was quite surprised, I've not heard of schools encouraging kids to do boxing before.
Is this a common thing then?

I told him that if he does it, he has to be prepared to be punched in the face a lot. "Not if they can't catch me".
c**ky little twat.
Although he went quiet when I told him that as he is the biggest/tallest kid in his year, he'll prolly be paired up with older kids to spar against.

Did you warn him about the inevitable brain damage?

Good for him. As long as they aren't asking the kids to spar. Or if they do, do it lightly.

Is this the kid you put on the vodkas?

Of course. He'll be wearing headgear all the time at his age too.
His mum will probably stop him from doing it anyway.

Vodka? He's only 11 FFS. I only let him drink 4% lager!

(Before anyone rings Child Protection, that was a joke. And it wasn't me who was gonna give his kid vodka).

Our school did boxing ( this was obviously waaaay back)

I went once, but got hit in the stomach....it really hurt so I didn't go again
