Default The Punisher

Thought there was a thread on this already, can't find it though

Really looking forward to The Punisher, was the best thing about 2nd series of Daredevil.
Release date is redacted from all the promo.

Was rumoured to maybe get released during/after New York comic con, but just read that they pulled everything Punisher related from New York and some other Paris dates due to the Vegas madness.

Hopefully not delayed for too long.

Love Marvel films but can't get into any of the Netflix/Marvel stuff

They can be a bit hit and miss.

Did like Daredevil, he's becoming a bit of a whiny git though, better for the supporting characters, Fisk and Punisher mainly.

Luke Cage grew on me.

The others range from alright down to The Inhumans level of bad, although it's only a few episodes in.

Very NSFW clip from Daredevil 2nd series

Netflix is shite full stop and only looks good compared to abc shite ie inhumans

Fox much as it pains me to say this are better.Gifted ( 1 ep in ) and Legion are decent attempts

I thought Legion spent too long up its own arse, but still a much better job than the formulaic Netflix attempts. At least it tried to be different. Daredevil for example is just so dull. Especially S2, once the Punisher came into it funnily enough.

Will give the stand alone series a go but I expect lots of exposition and flashbacks interrupted by long, pointless fight scenes. And maybe some mysterious baddies with exceptional but ultimately inconsistent martial arts skills

Hammered it and just finished it (wife's away ). Spoiler free review:
Solid addition to the run of Marvel solo outings on Netflix. Not quite as good as the first series of both DD and JJ but better than Luke Cage and Defenders series for me. It does adhere to the Marvel/Netflix tradition of having a dip around the middle of the series before picking up again on the home straight. Definitely could've got it all done in 10 episodes rather than 13. It's not all action which was surprising but welcome, too much action all the time would've been more than a bit OTT. Speaking of which, the violence is bone crunching stuff, just totally brutal. Theres a torture scene in particular later on that surely ranks amongst the most horribly violent pieces of TV ever made. Bernthal is fantastic as Frank Castle, born to play the part.
Interesting that no reference is made at all to other Marvel series and superheroes and whatnot (apart from a few appearances from the fit lawyer/journalist from DD).
Overall well worth your time
