Hameed is running back into some form. He'll be opening in Oz. I wouldn't be surprised to see somebody like Hales in the middle order. I can't think of anybody for number 3 though and Root has obviously put his foot down about batting at 4.

I know it's not the future, but Bell has been there, seen it.

Hales is worth a twirl, I thought he did OK for much of the time he was opening, he's scored some serious runs for notts batting at 5 hasn't he?

Hammed
Cook
Bell
Root
Hales
Stokes
Bairstow
Ali
Woakes / Roland Jones
Broad
Anderson

is there an argument for pushing Ali up the order and playing Woakes & RJ?

I think Ali bats too low at number 8 but it seems to work out for us/him, i don't see the point in playing 5 seamers and a spinner unless we had a left armer maybe.
I see the reasoning for Bell but I wouldn't take him, he can hardly score a run for Warwicks and I reckon he'll retire after this summer. I think it's too early for Livingstone and would be counter productive. I'd suggest somebody who's been waiting for a chance for a while Like Hildreth but he's not scored many this season for once. Bad timing for him.
So few candidates when you look at it. Norhteast at Kent?

Northeast has done really well for Kent this year, I'd love to see him get a chance.

You'd think Northeast would play for Durham not Kent
