Default Food: Best before dates

How much do you stick to this? Do you observe and throw loads away or do you give it a few days grace?

Got some yoghurts in the fridge that were BB 19th but don't think I can do it.

Depends what it is......

I will eat slightly mouldy bread though, my grandad swore by it...

Stick to the date

Sometimes even throw away things that still have a couple of days left in them just because they smell a bit off...

Yoghurts are , by nature, going off anyway. I've left them for weeks and they're fine. Cheese the same.
I take more care about meat and I had an boiled egg recently that had been hanging around for a while and I puked my ring up. You win some you lose some.

"Best before" is a guideline. "Eat by" is a warning. "Sell by" is for the shop only and can be ignored.

You are welcome
