This.

Grandma Keith used to steam jam roly poly for hours for afters. f***ing hell - suet based heroin. Off the scale bliss.

Custard was and remains critical for me though - it has to be thin. Give me thick or god forbid, lumpy custard and I'll take the iron from the cupboard next to the dishwasher and drive the pointy bit with all the force I can muster into your eye socket. Try me with thick custard again if you dare!

In other news, I really like chistmas pud/afters now after rejecting it out of hand for its overly high fruit content for 20+ years. Again the white sauce has to be thin. Can't quite believe we used to put coins in it - might as well put those urinal cubes in or some discarded peanuts from a Scottish dock yard pub.

Ice cream wise - has to be Kelly's from good old Cornwall. Not a huge ice cream fan (it feels like cheating to have it every week rather than just on hols) but worth checking out if you're a fan.

Runny custard? I'd always thought MNIK was male.

Think Keith might be confusing his custard with his white sauce.
