We had been in decline. The squad had been neglected with cheap buys like Obertan and Bebe FFS. All our best players were the wrong side of 30 except fatty and he allegedly wanted out.

Testament to Freggle for keeping them performing so well for so long.

Moyes was an absolute disaster but both LVG and Jose spent some dollar strengthening because they knew the squad was weak compared to our rivals.

Yep

Honestly think that with the squad we had and a couple of new faces Ancelotti or Mou would have won the league if they'd replaced Fergie

Instead that ginger prick comes in, clears out the back room staff that has won league titles and European cups and his only signing was f**king Fellaini

Also like Sparky said Gill leaving exactly the same time as Fergie was a HUGE blow and that single summer set us back years.

I will blame JM for one thing - flogging too many players until they were totally shagged out and not rotating enough. But we used to moan like mad about Fergie's "tinkering" didn't we?
