Question VR - Future of gaming?

Is this the real deal and the 'future of gaming' or just another Kinect/PS Move/Wiimote/Powerglove type gimmick?

Don't play much games these days tbh, but when I do I don't want to have to stand in the middle of the living room wearing some helmet looking like a massive k******d.

Thoughts?

Dunno. It's pretty cool to play with, though I've never done more than 2 mins after starting to feel self conscious of buggers watching me.

I might get into this in a gen or two...not this time though.

Great for racing and flight sims but my diy head tracker will do for now.

I've never had the chance to play current gen VR but it looks the real deal
Will probably get PlayStation VR if it turns out to be good

It's definitely the future of gaming as the evolution of gaming has always been about making games more and more immersive and there can be nothing more immersive than VR done right

Don't see the issue with putting on the headgear as your going to be playing in the comfort of your own home

When I eventually get a PS4 I'd buy a headset just for Rez

Went on a VR machine at the MOSI circa 1992/1993.

Had a panic attack in front of kids from another school.

Won't be buying.

The previous 3d technologies (those red/blue glasses, the polarised sunglasses you wore for Avatar) were supposed to be the next big thing but never were. It was just tricking your brain into thinking two images were the same thing, but at difference distances, and after a while it gives you a headache and you can't continue. This new technology is exactly the same and will work out the same.

3d won't become mainstream until it becomes 'true' 3d. TVs that display images in multiple layers, sort of thing.
