Default European Super League?

Some dodgy talks going on in London today and Ewar is of course involved

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/35708137

I'm firmly opposed

Probably the same hot air as the previous 67 times it has been floated.

Had better be, anyway. Would genuinely be the death of football for many of us if it ever happened

It's either genuine, or the big clubs are going to bully UEFA for a bigger slice of TV money than everyone else.

Personally I think the idea fucking stinks and the fans should boycott this fucking shitty idea.

Players of United's literally died trying to win the European Cup so for us to walk away from it as a club would be an insult for everything sir matt strived for.

Stupid, money grabbing idea so nailed on will happen.

The PL tv deal over the forthcoming three seasons is set in place and is mind boggling in terms of the dollars involved. Wouldn't worry about it right now tbh.
If and when the time comes the English fans WILL have their say (one way or another). Domestic cups already diluted but the fans won't stomach ANY compromises to OUR league, and neither will the British media for that matter.

if there'd been a european super league in 1956 busby would have pushed to join it

if it happens the season would need to be extended and it should be fitted around domestic leagues (18 team top flights), with fa cups retained, league cups voluntary and the uefa cups going back to knock-outs...

Busby was an advocate of the best playing the best. Champion v champion.

Not a small mafia of mega rich clubs playing invite only tournaments.

Even talk about winter breaks is hacking me off. Imagine no footy over Crimbo and NY? I'd much rather forfeit our National team than give that up.

And when SM got his way for us to play in the EC we only had the old First Division and FA Cup to think about. We played our best team too if everyone was fit. None of this rotation codswallop.
