one example. conference, seminar etc and two points may be raised during a (usually) panel discussion or a presentation. Options given for attendees to "break out" into different groups and continue the talk separately on point a or point b etc

it does and becoming all the more prevalent usually a good point to retire to a pub/hotel bar for refreshment or head out for a fag break under the pretense of networking (another f***ing annoying term)

Not for me, Clive. Sure you see it used as such but it just sounds bad. You can make use of the leverage your position affords you but I'd never say " you can leverage your position."

I worked as communications officer in finance for a while, and fought pretty hard against it....

"leveraged buy-outs" are OK, but in that case you're using "leveraged" as if it were a verb
