Lucian Freud - Girl With Beret

If you get a chance 0161 Fredsters, pop into the Manchester Art Gallery. Sure it's packed with some Pre-Raphaelite gems, but I was just blown away with Freud's "Girl With Beret". You can get right up close. The detail of the flecks in the eyes and the subtle skin tones are incredible.

Stunning and it won't cost you a bean either.

Ask for Melvin at the main desk, he may be able to pass you a couple of "interesting" preliminary sketches sandwiched between some crude victoriana rubbish !

Hope it's better in the flesh....

The scale and angle of her eyes are awful, really needs scaling...

Bug eyes, dip and dazzling.

Worst thing Freud ever did. Fit only for middle class birds walls when away from home for the first time at 'uni'.
The banal equivalent of a visual slapped arse.
This is why he's famous...

...not that art class shit for people who don't like art.

Can't say I'm into art really, however Salvador Dali paintings are immense, I could sit and look at them for hours. Seen a few of the landscapes that inspired his paintings in Bolivia. Also like Lowry paintings, interesting to look at, but landscapes and potraits don't really do anything for me. Rater look at a technical drawing tbh
