Default Big Issue sellers

How many do you have to swerve on a daily basis?

First encounter is the steps near shambles, then onto St Anns square where you are faced with another couple of the pride.

At lunchtime, the remaining pride have every place you can get a bite to eat covered.

If you dont buy you get the old have you got 11 pence for a cup of tea?

I dont know where they buy their brews, i cant get a cup of char for 11p

They are actually working people, buying the mag themselves early morning and spending the day trading.

Homeless or housed and trying to integrate back into society, FairPlay to them.

Cheer up a bit grumpy guts.

It could be worse....

I once tried to buy a Big Issue from a woman. A rarity for me, it must be said.

She turned out to be a buyer, not a seller. I thought it was just her last one.

Those hippies trying to get you to sign a contract to a charity are worse, seconded by the people trying to give you a M.E.N (that shortlist mag isn't bad)

Had a big issue sales man at my local station in london for a few years - saw him get back on his feet, get a job and a flat. It really worked him.

Moved to liverpool, tried to buy one from a fella in the town centre. I gave him the cash and said keep the change and his response: "you dont actually read it do you? If you dont want it, i can resell it.." Practically had to wrench it from his grasp.

Almost everything i needed to know about scousers in one interaction.

Just tell them you don't give a f*** about starving Africans/tsunami victims/depleted rainforests etc. While it doesn't quite make up for the 30 seconds or so of your life they've stolen, seeing the anger and disgust in their eyes at your callous nature is quite fun.

f***ing hippie bastards.
