Thumbs up PJ Harvey - Let England Shake

Apparently tipped as album of the year.

Stream here - http://www.zmemusic.com/feature/hot-...d-shake-321321

Getting mad reviews. Couldn't find a PJ Harvey thread to bump.

minidisc

If I put on my muso cap and thought I was writing for NME, I'd say it's the first 'post-recession Brit-album.' It's pretty political, look at this for a quote from NME:

"Francis Ford Coppola can lay claim to the war movie. Ernest Hemingway the war novel. Polly Jean Harvey, a 41-year-old from Dorset, has claimed the war album"

It got 10/10 in NME - rare.

I got that quote off wiki. It is shite though, you're right, that quote is why it's so bad.

But it's got 5 stars in the FT, telegraph, guardian as well. Think it's going to be one to remember Duckers, give it a listen...

actually, might not be the best choice for you atm.
