Just watched the YouTube trailer...

That looks good - beginning is very 28 Days Later isn't it. Only with Egg from This Life

Very promising premier. All the zombie standards you expect, but the zombies in this case seem to have retained just a fraction of their humanity - or at least some of them have. Creepy, very good special effects, character development - recommended.

Copied of 28 Days later imo, I'll still watch it though.

The zombie premise has been around a lot longer than 28 Days Later tbf.

In this the main character wakes up in a hospital and every f***er by then are zombies, therefore imo they've copied a little teeny weeny bit from 28 Days later.

It's obviously well done. The production values are very high, the character development and particularly the acting, (especially Lennie James who's usually bob on - although the Egg's Yank accent struggles at times), and you can see they've established a solid premise.

My one complaint is that overall it doesn't (as of yet) seem particularly original. It seems to harken back to recent zombie blockbusters such as Dead Set, 28 Days Later, and the daddy, Dawn of the Dead.

While so far it seems to be living up to the standards set, let's hope it can push the boundaries a bit as it develops as the formula is getting slightly played out. Either that or a bit more ***** pumping.

Mind you, with all the shite that is out in the zombie genre lately (like anything recent by George Romero) this is definitely promising and fingers crossed for the rest of the series.

Good call.

You might be unaware that this is based on a comic book in the US that was published in 2003, just a few months after 28 Days Later came out in the US, but originally plotted and sketched long before that. So in reality it's a coincidence, and anyway the hospital angle is the only significant similarity between the two. Well, that and all the f***ing zombies.
