Well, if true, it is a sad sad day.
Again, if true, what's happening is that we will be playing a 4-2-3-1 next year. With that, there's a lot of young, attacking players in front of that "two" so defensive solidity will be a must. Scholes probably recognises that they'll only use him in certain games. See, I reckon if he stays, there's every chance that in some big away games, Fergoz could opt for Fletcher over Scholes. That's going to bite. If he leaves though, that leaves us an injury away from Fletcher or (God forbid) even O'Shea playing! I'd say the overriding factor must surely be wages though? |
