Combine that with the fact that this Liverpool side will soon start to feel the weight of the unbelievable expectation of a first title in 30 years, and it's inevitable that they will lose a game between now and the end of May. They'll win the league because of the pace they've set in the first half of the season, but they'll lose a game on the way. My bet is that it will probably be during a cramped week of Premier League and Champions League fixtures. |

Arsenal going unbeaten felt like something amazing because the team winning the league would lose 3 or 4 games as standard. Blackburn lost 7 matches in 1995. We've won the league in the past with 79 points. Now, City lose 1 two years ago. Liverpool lost 1 last season. 100 points for city two years. 98 and 96 points each last season. We're in new territory. Chances are, they probably will slip up somewhere, but right now, they're not even drawing games. 2 points dropped all season. That's insane. And they're not THAT good. I'm not saying they'll do it because you can so easily have a bad day, but it wouldn't be as big a surprise or as big an achievement as it used to be. |
