for liverpool though he is a pep gladiola-lite. if they think he is going to bring tiki taka into that team of misfits, they may be disappointed. how long before he abandons his football philosophy for a more pragmatic approach? It's not like he is operating in a low pressure environment - they just sacked a club legend for not finishing in the top 4 |

If they can accept that the next 5, 6 or 7 years will be a write off similar to the last two, ie, a league cup win, or an FA Cup win here or there, pick and choose smaller signings that will help to play the way Rodgers wants them to, while overhauling their youth system and produce genuine youth products, they could create a dynasty like United did in the 90s. It's what United should have been doing since 2005, while we knew we were £#%&!ed financially. |

Fenway are not in this for seven years of transition. Not a £#%&!ing chance. By the way, only just noticed Rodgers' CV. Four years of club management experience, during which he was fired by Reading. Liverpool have done pretty well there |

fwiw i reckon rodgers could do very well if they gave him three years, allowed him to overhaul the back room staff from top to bottom, gave him free rein to sell all the cloggers who control the ball further than leon brittan passes it and didn't get on his back when results weren't great for 18 months. but that's not going to happen, especially with the fat waiter hanging around like a bad smell. if i was rodgers i'd be praying he goes to villa. |

united are doing exactly what you said: we overhauled the youth set up through rene and have a policy of buying talented youngsters (smalling, jones, hernandez, de gea, this lad powell, maybe clyne etc) while producing genuine youth prospects. pogba and morrison were disappointments but you know there's a load of quality in the reserves compared to what we had 10 years ago, the likes of cole, the keanes, brady etc are real prospects, and that's without mentioning the loanees. |

Does David £#%&!ing Fairclough just live outside Anfailed?
The grim @#%&!s are already out in full force. Aldridge stood in the pissing rain claiming Rodgers 'could be the next King'. Why do they need to be a stupid @#%&!ing king? First fan interviewed today: "well, everyone is inexperienced when they start, arent they?" |

They should've been doing this for £#%&!ing years and they haven't. They like to whine about how hardly done by they've been by United's huge commercial clout, while failing to recognise that they've completely wasted their potential in that regard. FFS they've spent more than we have in the Premier League era |
