The quality of his work on the ball has not been up to his usual standards, but he has still been very influential. Played slightly out of position, almost in the 10 role where Valdivia played against the Aussies. He is better in an orthodox midfield position.

Where did I talk about united? Nearly all teams need players like Vidal - leading by example in attitude and determination. He did all that whether or not he played in a slightly different role and regardless of how effective he was on the ball.

Your original point was a tad churlish and that's the one I was responding to.
