It's always easy to say we could have scored 10 in some games but that game in particular, it wouldn't have flattered us if we scored 12.

Sammy Macs hat-trick was £#%&!ing magic though. All 3 outside the area? I think so.
Wonderful stuff - great atmosphere and George Berry's hair put the top hat on the day - which you actually could have done.

I always stand by what I say on this, Barthez should have saved at least 1 probably 2 of them goals. Barthez let so many easy goals in at United it's unbelievable. He was always off his line. Like Owen at Anfield, it shown it again recently when he signed for us, Owen curls it from the edge of the box, it isn't really in the top corner, yet it show how beats Barthez by a distance and goes over him, 'cos he's so far off his line.

Rooney's was brilliant. And Kanchelskis as mentioned.

EDIT: Just seen Ste mentioned Barthez for Ronaldo's goals, hadn't read that far when I posted

I think goods pushing it a bit Ste.
His 1st the defender @#%&!ed it against his knee and it looped over the keeper. His 3rd was a tap in from 1 yard after Giggs took it around the keeper. His 2nd was a good move, so if that's what you mean by good I'll let you off.

Aren't all hat-tricks away from home good?

Hughes v Millwall, Sept. 1989, first one an absolute screamer. Finished 5-1.

Sheringham got their consolation at the Stretford End.

Remember that well. I seem to recall the stadium singing we're gonna win the league . The following week was a black day for United

Has to be Kanchelskis for me.

One of the games I will remember til I die, was sat on my own with my mate sat 20 or so rows below.
"we want 5, we want 5!"
Ended up jumping all over each other when the 5th went in

i think its unfair on ronaldo to blame barthez, the first goal was hit early and very low & hard, not many would have saved that. 2nd one barthez could do nothing, 3rd was a superb strike but a VDS probably would have gotten closer
