Default Fergie's Press Conf

Asked about Villa, he said they prefer to conduct deals like this Mexican lad, and other young players, rather than buying older players.

Potential resale value, etc.

Berbatov.

I don't mind that he wants to sign young players. Not a bad idea at all. Just wish they were good.

This lad has been checked out in depth by three different people from October according to Fergie so if he's no good there's something seriously amiss in our scouting system.

If he was any good, City would have signed him. There's a new world order.

To be honest, Villa isn't worth that much money at his age. Wouldn't mind David Silva though if they're having a clear out.

Yeah, we could give them £25m for him and I wouldn't be upset.

Why do people care so much about how much a player is worth?

"He's not worth that money, we shouldn't pay it"

WHY NOT?

What is our £#%&!ing money going on then? Some shiny new executive seats? David Gill's trouser extensions?

"we prefer to conduct deals like menudo from mexico, blah blah"

£#%&! off.

Do you think we're stupid? You bought owen hargreaves, carrick for nearly combined £40m. Rio was £30m, Rooney was nigh on £30m and Berbatov was £30m.

Just say it..."we haven't got the money to compete for those type of players anymore"...JUST £#%&!ING SAY IT YOU LIARS.

Don't particularly mind not getting Villa, tbh. For his age, it is a lot of money. But I do wish we could add a few established players, rather than just buying buying players for the future. All well and good buying the likes of Tosic, Obertan, Diouf, Smalling etc, but it is a risk. And such is our squad at the moment, we need a few who can come in and do a job straight away.

tbh I'm just quite chuffed that he fancies United either above, or at least alongside Real and Barca.

Indeed and Probably would never have happened if we'd have pushed the boat out a bit more in 2006 and signed torres for 24 million, oh well.

£40m is an obscene sum to spend on a 28 year old forward (who will turn 29 four months into next season).

Anyone able to find a link to the Managers Press Conference? I like watching these when I get home from work.

Cheers.
